Silhouette Driver present – A driver for the Silhouette is not actually necessary for proper operation to communicate with the Silhouette Studio program. This is most commonly the case if there is one of the following : In some cases the computer may have another USB device driver set up that is impeding the ability of the Silhouette to properly connect. As another new window pops up, select the Driver tab.As a new window pops up, in the General tab select the « Change Settings» option.Right-click on the “ Unknown/Unspecified Device”.Locate the device labeled « Unspecified» to check if the machine is registering as “ USB Printing Support”.Go to the Start menu > Devices and Printers. If all connections are secure and set up properly, then the most common concern may be that the Silhouette is not being recognized as a USB device by the computer.

Ensure there is a direct connection between the Silhouette and the computer tower/laptop ( rather than running the USB cord through a hub or monitor/keyboard USB port, etc). While other cords may appear to fit, Silhouette America cannot guarantee proper operation with other components.
